Exeat Monday
To Infinity & Beyond
Over this topic we will be learning all about two of our favourite things...space and superheroes!
The Planets in the Solar System
Let’s learn about all the planets.
The solar system is really an exciting place.
The sun is the centre of the solar system.
The Planets in the Solar System Activities
Do you remember
the names of the planets in our solar system?
Can you label them?
Can you recall some facts
about the planets in our solar system?
This week we will carry on looking at numbers beyond 10.
Let's play a counting game, it's called "I Count, You Count". The teachers will point to themselves and start counting from any number between 1-20. For example: 4,5,6,7
Then the teacher will point to you and you have to carry on. For example: 8,9,10,11
Continue this pattern of the teachers pointing to themselves and you and see how far you can count. Play again starting at a new number.
Play a game of "Snakes and Ladders".
You can play online here:
https://toytheater.com/snakes-and-ladders/
Make sure you are counting on after the dice is rolled. For example: if you were on 14 and rolled a three, count on 15, 16, 17 as you move up the board.
Playing this game will help you to see the number sequence and become more familiar with numbers beyond 10.
Have Fun playing these games.
Last week we created our own story map of our Topic story 'Whatever Next'. Now it's time to change some aspects of it to create our own story.
Maybe we could change the Bear in the story to be a Giraffe or a Panda instead?
Maybe we can pack something different into our rocket?
Maybe we could visit another planet instead of the moon?
Using the story map that you created last week, try changing some of the things yourself. Use post-it notes to put over the top to show the changes that you have made.
Can you have a go at re-telling your story now. Can you make up some actions to go with your new story?
This week, we are learning the sound
/oi/
Let's think of something that you find super tricky and write it on a large piece of paper. We will keep this piece of paper for later. The challenge will be to see if with lots of practise and hard work, can we get better at the things we find extra tricky?
Tapestry focus - this week we will focus on our maths in class and will send some pictures of your children completing some activities of their mathematical work in class.
