Please remember to add a few photos of your holiday to Tapestry so your child can share where they went to and what they did with their friends.
Song: Hello to all the Children of the World
Story: The Snail and the Whale
Our wonderful world The snail and the whale. Read the story and talk about the snail visiting different places.
The snail went on a big adventure around the world. we are going to go on our adventure, exploring some of the countries that we are all from. So let's get ready! What do you think we need to take with us on our trip around the world?
Can you pack your suitcase for our trip around the world? Think carefully about what you will need!
Introduce Zero
We will read ‘None the Number’ by Oliver Jeffers.
How many less to make zero? Is none a number? It’s one less than what?
Take away the number on each page and how many are you left with?
e.g. If you had 5 hats like Rupert and you lost them all, how many would you have?
We will play some games looking at how to get to zero and sing this song.
Zero is the hero in this Numberjack episode.
Wh-Questions
We will continue to ask questions
to learn more about our friends' holidays.
We use who to ask about people.
We use what to ask about things.
We use where to ask about places.
We use when to ask about time.
We use why to ask about reasons.
This week will talk about what it means to be a "good egg". We will continue to review The Koala Way through visual cards.
The Caring Koala helps us to learn about our school rules.
Let's practise the rules while we are playing with our friends.
Tapestry focus - this week we will focus on child -led activities in the classroom.
