International Day Thursday 18th October
We will continue to learn all about feelings and how we express ourselves. We will also discuss what happens to our bodies when we feel different emotions.
Here is our song.
Disgust is a strong feeling of unpleasantness. Have you ever felt that emotion?
Disgust can feel unpleasant, it can be a very helpful emotion to help guide us and direct us to express what we like and what we don’t like.
Talking time:
What disgusts you? Do spider sandwiches make you disgusted? Mashed potato and ice cream pizza? Washing your face with mud?
Welcome to our interactive taste session activity where we will explore the emotion of disgust through various tastes.
Understanding our reactions to different flavours helps us comprehend how our sense of taste and emotional responses are interconnected.
Let's sit in a small circle with a special object (e.g., a soft toy, ball, or puppet).
We are now going to pass the object around the circle. Each child who holds it can say one thing they like to share (e.g., “I like to share my crayons”).
After sharing, they pass the object to the next person.
Encourage children to use kind words like “Here you go” when passing.
At the end, reflect: “How did it feel when your friends shared their ideas? How do we feel when we share in real life?”
Let’s check out our Makaton Signs for the week: .
Makaton Signs of the Week
We will post some photos of your child as they try a few different taste sensations.
