Where Does It Come From?
Our shopping role play is allowing the children to use lots of language from our core text, Pete The Cat Goes To The Supermarket. The children will be thinking about which foods they would like to buy from a supermarket too.

Read the story
Pete the cat goes to the supermarket
Pass a coin around the circle. When you are holding the coin, it is your turn to speak.
What do you like to buy from a shop of your choice?
Sing together the Grocery shopping song.
Play the food bingo game.
Talk about places where the children have been shopping with their families.
We will read One Gorilla.
Can you count how many animal there are in the story? Use your fingers to represent how many there are.
We will play a game to find matching numerals and amounts. How can you show each number?
The children will work in small groups to go on a number hunt. Can they find the numeral or the correct number in our environment?
