Let’s share our beach story together again:
Can you remember what beach feature we were looking at last week?
Sandcastles!
We have our magic sand out today, can you help me to build 5 sandcastles? 1, 2, 3, 4 ,5.
Now we are ready to sing our 5 little sandcastles song, whoever is singing along beautifully can help me to wash away our sandcastles!
Let’s sing some more counting down songs together:
Today we are going to pose for our final formal photo in Pre-Nursery! Can you show us your biggest smiles? Let’s count down and say “cheese”. Ready? “5, 4, 3, 2, 1, Cheese”.
We have collected shells and built a sandcastle at the beach. I wonder what else we can find?
Something fun you can find at the beach is a rock pool. A what? A rock pool. But what's a rock pool?
Did you spot anything in the rock pool? There’s always something special to find in a rock pool. I wonder what Peppa pig can find in a rock pool?
What did Peppa find? One of the things she found was a crab. Can we pretend we’re a crab? We have nippy claws and we move sideways.
Today the Pre-Nursery children will get to spend some time playing in Nursery and meeting some of the nursery teachers, teaching assistants and nanny's, how exciting!
Let’s read our beach story. Can you remember what animals live in rock pools?
Yes, Crabs. Let’s find out more about crabs.
Let’s read a story about a crab who was having trouble with his nippy claws.
Can you remember our crab dancing from yesterday? Let’s dance like a crab!
Activity 1: Can you remember where Peppa Pig found a crab? In a rockpool! This week, we are creating a class rock pool together. Let’s find the big paper that we painted blue…this could be the water! Now we are going to add some sandy rocks all around the edge using glue and sand.
Activity 2: Let’s take a close look at our photos that we took at the beginning of the week. What can you see? 2 eyes, 1 nose and a big smiley face. Let’s draw a self-portrait. We can look at our photo to help us.
Let’s share our beach story together again:
Look closely at the final page in our book, what can you see?
The people are in a boat and fishing! Today we are going to be learning all about boats and fishes!
Can you find a friend and sit opposite each other and hold hands and practice rocking forwards and backwards? Now we are ready for our next song:
That was fun! Let’s settle down and listen to this lovely story about fish.
We can watch the story too.
Look at our class rock pool that we have been making together as a class. We have painted the water, and added some green seaweed as well as some sandy rocks too! So now we need to add some creatures!
We can use our fingerprints in paint to create little fishes to go into our rock pool.
Let’s sing one of our favourite songs:
1, 2, 3, 4, 5 Once I Caught a Fish Alive.
Who can remember was sea animal we are learning about…fishes!
Can you help your teacher to count the fish in this game?
Excellent counting skills! Right, now it’s time to jump in our boats and go rolling out to sea with this fun song
Let’s go fishing.
We have our magnetic fishing rods and fish puzzle, I wonder how many fishes you can catch?
Let’s check out our Makaton Signs for the week: Sandpit, Swimming Pool & Playground.
Let’s take a look at this week's preparation for writing programme - Wiggle me into Squiggle. This week's action is:
Wriggle me into a Squiggle Song Sheet
Our 'Sound Song' this week is for the letter 'T'
We will observe the children while they draw their self-portrait to see if they can start to make marks intentionally.
