We will learn all about the different animals that live in the jungle. We will also look at all the different colours that we can see in the jungle too.
Core Story: Fancy Dress Jungle
Core Song: Walking Through The Jungle
Who can remember what we have been learning about? That’s right, The Jungle.
Well this week we are learning about a particular animal. Let’s see if you can guess.
Here's a leaf reveal game, I wonder if we can find an animal hiding somewhere in there!
A Monkey!
This week we are learning all about Monkeys! And I know a great song about 5 Little Monkeys
We did lots of great singing and counting, let’s do some counting of our own.
Pick up a bucket and see what number is on the side......number 3!
We can only put 3 items in our buckets at a time, so let’s go hunting around our classroom for 3’s of toys to fill our bucket with.
Which animal are we learning about this week, shall I give you a clue, it says…
“ooh ooh, aah ahh”
A Monkey!
Monkey’s are fantastic climbers and swingers. Shall we watch one swinging and climbing?
We know a song about monkeys who could swing and climb….
5 Little Monkeys on the Tree (felt board)
Oh dear, they didn’t swing quickly enough. Who caught the monkeys? That’s right, a Crocodile!
We can find out more about crocodiles by reading this book.
Today is a very special day, does anyone know what is happening today? Yes, it is Sports Day! Let’s read this story together
Peppa’s Sports Day (physical book)
In our story did you see the children running? Let’s sing a song where we can run!
Peppa and friends also had a jumping competition, let’s do some jumping of our own!
This week we have been learning all about animals that live in the jungle, shall we see if we can use our bodies to move like the animals?
I think we are all warmed up and ready for our very own Sports Day!
Today we will have our very own Sports Day. Our families are able to join us on this day.
At 08:40 we will go to the bathroom. We will then head to the field at 08:45 all walking beautifully on the line with our family members and head to the field for a morning of fun and exercise!
Our hands are lovely and warmed up now and this is great as we will be using our handprints to create some beautiful hanging monkeys.
Watch your teacher as she shows you how to do it!
Now let’s keep those fingers moving with this song:
What we have been learning about this week? That’s right, Monkeys!
Today we are going to make some funny swinging monkeys using brown paint and our hands...how exciting!
Oh no, these little monkeys are all upset. Let's read a story about another monkey and how he managed to calm down when he was upset.
Shall we try one of Monkey's ideas to calm down and sing a nice calm song.
Let’s head to our water tray where we can make some calm down bottles.
What colours do you like?
Will you add some sequins or glitter?
Pop the lid on and watch the water swirl around the bottle - ahhhh, how calming.
Let’s check out our Makaton Signs for the week: Table, Chair & Window
Let’s take a look at this week's preparation for writing programme - Wiggle me into Squiggle. This week's action is:
