All About Me
We will learn all about ourselves, our bodies and our feelings.
Core Story: 10 Little Fingers and 10 Little Toes
Core Song: Heads, Shoulders Knees and Toes
Let’s sing Wake up our Muscles
What body parts did we wake up this morning?
Now we will read a story together that has lots of fingers and toes!
Let’s sing Fingers Like to Wiggle Waggle
Can we count from 1 to 5? Let’s use our fingers and try together.
We can join in with these lovely counting songs!
Come and help me count how many fingers are on our gloves?
We can squeeze each finger as we count.
This is the story we listened to yesterday, let’s look at the pictures again.
Who we can see in the pictures...babies.
Let’s sing a song about a baby, let’s take out our baby bears and pretend they are our babies..
Let’s get our babies clean! All babies need big people to help them get bathed.
Today we will help the baby dolls to get nice and clean and smelling good by giving them a big bath with lots of bubbles.
After the bath can we help to get the babies nice and dry?
What wonderful helpers!
Who can remember what our story was about? Yes, that’s right,10 Tiny Toes and many other body parts too.
Let's play this fun game to see if we know the names of the different body parts
Today we’re going to concentrate on our fingers.
Here’s a fun finger Song
We can also sign and sing-a-long to this song too:
And finally, let’s sing Fingers Like to Wiggle Waggle
Today we are going to be getting all of our little fingers wet and making marks onto our special aqua-doodle mat.
We have been learning lots about our fingers and hands now let’s look at something else…our feet! Can you take off your shoes and socks and put them in your cubby, remembering to put your socks inside your shoes?
Now we can use our feet to join in with this fun walking song:
Let’s sit down, can you wiggle your toes? Let’s count our toes too! Now go and get your shoes and socks from your cubby and can you put them back on by yourself? If you need help you can ask your teachers to “help please”.
We all have 10 toes. But … are all our toes are the same? Let’s make some footprints in the wet sand and compare them!
All week we have been moving our fingers and toes. Can you follow the song and move your whole body?
Wow, all that moving our bodies has made me tired. Can you lie down for a rest? Here is our parachute - can you touch it with your fingers? Can you touch it with your toes?
Now that we have our parachute out let’s play some parachute games.
Let’s check out our Makaton signs for this week…
Are there any signs that are special to our class?
Tapestry focus - this week we will focus on our daily routines.
