People Who Help Us
Together we will learn all about the people in our community that help us; medical staff, school community helpers
Core Story: Emergency by Margaret Mayo
Core Song: Hurry, Hurry, Drive the Firetruck
Last week who did we learn about? Doctors! Now we are going to learn about somebody new.
Let's watch this little boy Ethan go on a trip, Where does he go? This is a clue for what we will be learning about.
He went to the dentist. Have you been to the dentist? Miss Sophie & Miss Maxine have been to the dentist too!
What do dentists look after...our teeth! We should brush our teeth everyday!
Who would like to come and help me brush our BIG set of teeth? We have a timer so you need to keep brushing until the time is finished. Ready, steady, go!
What else do we do in the morning? I have my magic bag with some clues…..
Let’s sing this morning routine song
Golly Gosh! I think these teeth could use a clean! Can you help me brush them to keep them healthy and strong!
Lets use this timer to see if we can get them clean before the sand runs out!
Who can remember what we are learning about? Shall I give you a little clue?
Who tells us to use these a lot, that is right, the Dentist!
Shall we see if Peppa Pig can clean her teeth?
Were Peppa and George good at brushing? Yes they were! Let’s sing our tooth brushing song and join in with the actions
Let's find out what happens when Peppa & George visit the Dentist....
Oooh, look at our playdough table. There are lots of ‘teeth’ on it!
Can you pick the playdough out that's stuck in the teeth?
We can use our playdough tools and maybe some toothbrushes too.
Thank you, now they’re nice and clean.
Who can remember what we are learning about? Shall I give you a little clue? (pull out lots of toothbrushes from a bag). I’ve got enough for everyone!
And who tells us to use these a lot, that is right, the Dentist!
Let’s sing our new toothbrushing song but this time we can use real toothbrushes to help sing.
Well done! All your teeth look super clean and shiny now.
I wonder why we have to keep our teeth clean? I know a story that might help us find the answer.
Activity 1: Look at these funny colourful monsters……but look at their teeth.
Gosh, they are so dirty!
Can you use a toothbrush to help make the monster's teeth all shiny and white again?
Activity 2: Tomorrow we have a special day. We are going to need to prepare this watermelon. Can you help me to scoop out the water melon?
Today we celebrate Loy Krathong. Let’s learn a little more about this special celebration:
Do you remember the watermelon that we cut in half and scooped out all of the flesh yesterday? We are going to turn this into a class Krathong. But what is missing? Let’s have a look at this Krathong and see what we can see…
Do you see all of the leaves and flowers? Today we will visit the eco garden to find some beautiful flowers and leaves to put into our class Krathong. Once we have finished them we can go and float them in our water trays.
Loy Krathong Assembly: 08:40-09:00
Floating the Krathong: 09:20-09:30
Activity 1: Let’s go to the Eco Garden and see what we can find! Can you see flowers, can you find any leaves? What colours are they, what do they smell like? Let’s pick a few for our class Krathong.
Activity 2: We saw lots of beautiful colourful flowers today, now it is time to make some flowers of our own, using paper and lolly pop sticks. I wonder which colour you will choose for your flower?
Today we are celebrating how we are all different but are all special in our own way.
Let’s have a look at our socks..is there something special about them?
They are all different.
Today we are going to share a story about a little glow stick, let’s share this story together:
We can also watch the story too:
We have something special inside our magic bag, come up one by one and take something from the magic bag…what is it? A glow stick! Can you make it shine? Now let’s dance with our glow sticks!
This week we will focus on our imaginative and creative skills. Can the children access the small world toys, for example, role play with the dentist kits, or head to the construction area and create a small world of their own with the trains and cars?
Let’s check out our Makaton Signs for the week: Breakfast, lunch & dinner!
Let’s take a look at this week's preparation for writing programme - Wiggle me into Squiggle. This week's action is:
Wriggle me into a Squiggle Song Sheet
Our 'Sound Song' this week is for the letter 'S'
This week our Tapestry focus will be looking at individual childrens' learning.
