Marvellous Me
We will learn all about ourselves, our families, our school and about being part of our Nursery class.
Core Story: Families, Families, Families
Core Song: Magic Words
This week we are learning all about different parts of the body. Let’s read this story together to learn about body parts.
What fun, let’s sing this song all about heads…shoulders…knees and toes!
Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes.
Today we are going to draw around our friends, let's try one all together now! Who would like to come and lay down while I draw around you!
Wow look at this, can you show me where is the head? Can you show me where is the foot?
Activity 1: Trace around your body on a large piece of paper. Can you name the body parts and decorate?
Activity 2: Self Portraits. Let’s take a close look at our face, what can you see? 2 eyes, 1 nose, a mouth and 2 ears. Can you draw your own face?
Who can remember what we are learning about? That’s right, parts of the body! Let’s sing our fun song to remind us of some of our body parts!
Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes.
Today we are looking at our faces, what can you see on your teacher's face? How many eyes? How many ears? How many noses?
Now let’s play this fun game:
What's missing? Your teacher will draw a face on a whiteboard. Hide the face and erase one feature. Can you guess what is missing?
Activity 1: Make a frame with popsicle sticks and stickers.
Activity 2: Self Portraits. Let’s continue to take a close look at our faces, what can you see? 2 eyes, 1 nose, a mouth and 2 ears. Can you draw your own face?
Today we will learn a new word, skin. Can you say skin? Can anyone show me where is your skin?
Let’s share this story about our skin.
Now we can sing this song too:
Today we are going to paint a face shape in the colour of our skin. I have lots of different skin colour paints, I wonder which one I should choose? Do you think I have chosen a similar colour? Great, then I will paint my paper with this this!
Let’s look carefully at the skin on your hands, what colours can you see? Now have a look at all the different colour paints we have, choose the colour you feel matches best and paint your face shape.
Who can remember what we are learning about this week? That’s right, parts of the body! Let’s share this book again
Now we can play this fun game! Can you help to spin the spinner and then shout out the name of the body part that the spinner has landed on?
Finally, let’s get our bodies moving with these songs:
Add facial features to your painting from yesterday. Use the mirror to look closely at the shapes you will need.
We have had so much fun this week learning all about the different parts of the body! Now let’s play this fun game together:
I have in my magic bag some different body parts. Who would like to come and help choose one? What body part did you find? Well done, now can you place the body part on the correct space on the picture? Let’s keep going until we have all the body parts back together again!
Now let’s get our bodies moving one last time for the week and join in with these active movement songs:
This week we will capture the children in some of their specialist lessons; Music, Thai, PE, Soft Play & Library.
