We are going to read a story about Christmas and it’s called - We're Going on a Sleigh Ride, A Lift-the-Flap Adventure by Martha Mumford
Okay everyone, we’re going on a sleigh ride! Let’s make a sleigh on the carpet. Can we get enough chairs for everyone?
Once the chairs are ready, climb aboard the sleigh! The teacher will steer at the front.
Grab your musical instruments, and let’s sing Jingle Bells together—use your loud, happy voices and shake those instruments! Let’s have some fun! Off we go… Weee…

In small groups, get into the sleigh. Who wants to steer the sleigh? Put on your Santa hats, grab your musical instruments, and let’s sing Jingle Bells together. Off we go… Weee…
Where else do we want to go on our sleigh???
Today we are going to turn our sleigh into a rocket and visit outer space!
Rockets travel really fast and are used to visit outer space. Lets sing this space song. Zoom, Zoom, Zoom

Lets pretend our sleigh is now a super fast rocket sleigh flying into space. Are you ready lets put on our helment, space boots and seatbelt. are you ready?! 10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 Blast off!

Now lets make a space picture. Start by painting a piece of paper dark space shades (black,blue and purple) and spinkle with glitter.
Can you use some bubble wrap to print a moon?
Now lets decorate our rocket sleigh with some pens/pencil etc. We will take a photo of you to stick into the rocket sleigh.
Today we are continuing learning about Christmas. We are going to sing some counting songs all about Christmas.

How many boxes are leftover?
Can you mix some colours to make a Christmas tree? What colours will you need?
Add the colours onto a paint palette and mix well with a paintbrush. How could we use the paint to make our tree? We have lots of different ideas that you can try - forks, fingerpainting, straws etc. Which one will you choose?
Once it is dry, we can decorate them and stick them onto card to create a beautiful Christmas card for your family.
Today, friends, we’re going to combine dancing and drawing with one of our favourite songs, ‘Can’t Stop the Feeling!’ First, we’ll grab a crayon in each hand and stand around our big art paper. When the music starts, we’ll wiggle, hop, and move our bodies to the beat, letting our hands create colorful squiggles as we dance!
