Welcome to Day 2 of the Digitalisation and Co-engaged Active Learning Summer School! Today’s program focuses on how sustainable development principles and curriculum innovation can transform higher education. We begin with a deep dive into Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) as knowledge-mediated learning, presented by Prof. Rob O’Donoghue. Following this, Prof. Ingrid Schudel will introduce STEAM as a powerful tool for curriculum innovation in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), highlighting the integration of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics for meaningful learning.
At 12:00, we’ll pause for an interactive Miro board session, where participants can actively engage and reflect on the morning’s discussions. This collaborative exercise will continue after lunch, ensuring all voices are heard and insights shared. After the break, we’ll reconvene at 14:00 for a group reflection and report-back on the Miro board contributions. We’ll wrap up Day 3 by 15:00, equipped with new perspectives and ready to take on the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. Let’s keep driving forward together on this journey of digital innovation and sustainable learning!
Explore the role of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) as a knowledge-mediated learning approach to enhance curriculum delivery in higher education settings.
Understand and apply STEAM as an innovation tool in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), integrating interdisciplinary approaches to foster creativity, critical thinking, and sustainable learning practices.
