How do I make my video?

The research message in just 3 minutes!

The Rules:

Upload a video (via this link) in which you tell us about your research.

You can make the video with your phone. You can hold the phone and video yourself or ask a friend to video your presentation.

The video may not include any other people in the shot besides yourself.

If you include a PPT slide or any other graphic, it should be only ONE image. (We're looking for an engaging discussion of your research work and great presentation skills - not technological bells and whistles!)

The video must be maximum of 3 minutes long. Any submission longer than 3 minutes will be cut off at the 3 minute mark.

Multiple prizes are up for grabs. Some prizes will be for participation and awarded randomly (computer-generated), others will be selected by the Deans and DVC Research, others will be on the basis of a popular vote and others as determined by the Postgraduate Liaison Committee.

What to consider when making the video.

  • We are looking for clarity of message (can anybody from any discipline understand it?)

  • We are looking for engagement (is it interesting?)

  • We are looking for videos that can convince us about the value of postgraduate research - and of your study in particular.

Who may enter?
