6th Grade Orchestra Course Description:

6th Grade Orchestra meets four times each cycle, during the school day. No more early morning meetings! Three of these classes are small group sectionals and the fourth class is a full orchestra rehearsal. 

The 6th Grade Orchestra performs two evening concerts and in-school assemblies per year. You will also have the opportunity to perform for community functions and on fun field trips! Repertoire for this group includes contemporary compositions and arrangements of classical and popular music, some of which you get to pick!

You won't just learn how to play your instrument. You will learn ensemble skills, how to shift, use vibrato, and explore various bow techniques, build aural (listening) skills, improvise, grow your confidence as a musician and music reader, and build lasting friendships. Orchestra is TONS of fun. We hope you'll join us!
