Taumata Wha
The objective of this stage is to teach children how to blend consonant-vowel-consonant (CVC) words.
At this stage you will need the following resources: Pictures or toys of a cat, dog, pig, bug, hen, robot; puppet with a mouth that can be opened and closed; sets of word cards rhyming with the key word; Stage 2 alphabet cards; whiteboard, whiteboard pen and wiper for each child.
