About RAPTOR RADIO

WRPT Raptor Radio is a commercial-free, student-run radio station that has been broadcasting from Research Triangle High School in Durham, NC since 2018.

The station is student run and includes staff positions, from station director to head DJ. Each student is trained on the hows and whys of broadcasting, and in the art of working in live radio. The students decide the genre of music for their specific show, but the general programming is pop/urban/hip-hop - sprinkled with adult alternative, original student music, and an occasional Broadway showtune. However, some students prefer to run their own news talk or sports shows instead.

Raptor Radio primarily covers three counties - Durham, Orange, and Wake – and since we broadcast/stream online, WRPT is now available worldwide!
