About

Good Morning, I am Chandler. I am a landscape photographer based in New England (for now). I get inspiration from Ansel Adams, Thomas Heaton, Scott Kelby, Nick Page, Charlie Widdis, Moe Chen. They are all landscape photographers. Why landscape? Why not? I think the nature has more to offer than mosquito bites. The mountains to me is a place of serenity and is a completely different world. I think the cities are too annoying and I think suburbans have too many kids running around. I became hooked onto landscape photography the first time I saw my brother get a 1D Mark II. The images he could take with that camera were absolutely stunning to me at the time. I find myself daydreaming most about going out and taking photos rather than actually doing it. Hopefully, that'll be cured this summer.

Inspiration

Ansel Adams

Ansel Adams was most famously known for photographing Yosemite National Park situated in Northeast California. Back in the film days, everything was black and white. With black and white images, contrast is what you look for. Ansel tends to create a lot of drama when it comes to his landscape images. The way the mountains seem to loom over the photographer making the cliffs and peaks seem immense give a sense of just how large this planet is.

Thomas Heaton

Thomas Heaton is a photographer famous for his landscape images. He is based out of Northern United Kingdom. Tom often travels worldwide to capture some of natures most spectacular views. The colors in the sky seem to just blend seamlessly into the subjects. The colors, the sharpness, the clarity, the grand vistas, all have their place in my photography wonders.

Scott Kelby

Scott Kelby is an all around photographer who captures life around him. He is a sports, landscape, fashion, and travel photographer. I remember buying his book The Digital Photography Book back in 2006 when I first got into photography. Ever since reading this, I have been keen to get out and capture what the world has to offer. Now, back in those days, all they had were point n' shoots and DSLR's which really only pro's could afford. I remember my first camera being a Canon SD1000 with a whopping 7.1 megapixel sensor. I took this thing everywhere I went. I must have at least 130,000 shutter actuations by the time I got my second camera in 2012.

Nick Page

Nick Page is an avid photographer who shoots everything from sports to sea. The thing I love most about his photographs is how well the foreground blends into the background. The colors are not super vibrant which can distracting to some eyes. The images are a bit flat which look super dramatic.

Charlie Widdis

Charlie Widdis is based in Maine and captures the wonderful views of the New England mountain ranges from Mount Katahdin to the Adirondacks. His images are composed very well and sometimes I see my images to be similar to his. I get inspired by his images because they are mostly taken in Maine and New England which I can have good access to and therefore allow me to grab the gear and head out the next day.

Moe Chen

Moe Chen is is also based in Maine. His images truly capture Maine's slogan. Talk about Vacationland. His images are packed full of color and they convey a sense of bliss. The thing I love most about Moe's photographs is just how well composed they are. Sometimes I find myself thinking "what would Moe do with all this?"
