With Valentine's Day this month, it's important to remember relationship "green flags" and "red flags."
See the slideshow below from Caring Unlimited, York County's domestic violence resource center, for more information about healthy and unhealthy relationships.
And remember, the most important kind of love is SELF LOVE! ❤️
MIYHS Data Spotlight
Last year, MHS students took the Maine Integrated Youth Health Survey (MIYHS). The survey is administered every two years and its purpose is to monitor health behaviors and attitudes regarding tobacco, alcohol, substance use, mental health, nutrition, physical activity, and protective factors. Comparsion of 2025 vs. 2023 data highlights that youth behaviors and attitudes have improved in many areas, while there still are areas of improvement.
This month's "data spotlight" involves data around suicide and depression.
28.5% of MHS students reported feeling sad or hopeless almost every day for at least two weeks in the past 12 months (down from 37.1% in 2023)
42.5% of MHS students reported that they got help from an adult when they were feeling sad or hopeless (up from 34.8% in 2023)
11.8% of MHS students reported that they seriously considered attempting suicide in the last 12 months (down from 20.8% in 2023).
ASVAB - February 25th

Participants have no obligation to military service, but 11th-12th grade students who choose to can use their scores to explore enlistment.
