Marshwood High School's 2026-2027 Program of Studies is written to assist you, the student, in planning your course of studies. We encourage you to begin a series of conversations with your parents/guardians, teachers, and school counselors about your future aspirations and the course work required to meet your goals.
Dear Marshwood High School Students, Parents, and Guardians,
Welcome to the 2026-2027 edition of the Marshwood High School Program of Studies. In the following pages, you will find a wide variety of course options united by their alignment to our core values:
The goal of Marshwood High School is to create a supportive and challenging educational environment. Our community encourages academic success, affirms the unique potential of each student, and inspires all to be responsible, socially aware citizens.
Our commitment to these values ensures that we are preparing students to be college, career, and life ready. Whatever path our students are on, we are here to provide the depth and breadth they need from their high school education and ensure that we ground them for lifelong success.
Please use the Program of Studies as a guide as you develop an academic plan that will meet your student’s learning needs and satisfy all requirements for graduation. Please read carefully the course description and the course prerequisites prior to selecting a class. Some courses are student choice and some core classes are determined on teacher recommendations. The planning process for our students began at the end of eighth grade, with a focus on meeting each student’s post-secondary goals. Yet plans may change and goals evolve so consider the information provided in the Program of Studies to ensure that selected courses meet graduation requirements and align with post-secondary objectives.
Please do not hesitate to confer with your student’s teachers, advisor and school counselor if you have any questions.
Take good care,
Richard J. Gowers
Principal
