Question : How can I start to save my money?
As a highschool student, I am going to be honest, I too used to have a bit of a money spending problem. Here are some of the things that have helped me out alot in saving my money:
Admit you have a problem
Being able to admit you have a problem is the first step towards being able to save your money. You will never be able to get anywhere with saving your money if you don't admit you have a problem.
Set up a budgeting plan with your parent/guardian
When I first talked to my parents about saving money they first suggested a budgeting plan for each month. So we used a budgeting plan each week (I get paid weekly) and we would go over how much money I should put into my necessities for that week. We split up the money into the categories of bills, (phone, car insurance, subscriptions, gas, etc.) spending money for the week, and saving money.
Setting up a savings account
You can go to the bank and set up a savings account, it's really simple. Honestly, for me this has helped me save a lot of money! I get part of my paycheck deposited into my account directly and made a deal with myself that what money I put in I can't take out. This has honestly been so easy to help me save money.
