The Katahdin Program

DEDICATED TO MEETING THE SOCIAL EMOTIONAL AND ACADEMIC NEEDS OF ALL STUDENTS

MISSION

Engaging in the classroom, the outdoors, and the greater community, the Katahdin Program provides alternative education programming for students grades 9-12 enrolled in the RSU14 school district.

The Katahdin Program is a small, community-focused school dedicated to addressing the social emotional and academic needs of all students. We are united by core values that include: kindness, respect, responsibility, safety and integrity. Using a relational and asset-based approach, along with a spirit of relentless positivity, we illustrate to our students that they are capable learners and community members.

In collaboration with our students, the Katahdin Program has built a school climate and culture where everyone feels comfortable, ready to learn and challenge themselves in new ways--all while exploring a customized pathway towards graduation and beyond.

VISION

Students enrolled in the Katahdin Program will develop the capacity to think critically and act consciously when facing life’s opportunities and challenges.  Our students will know what it means to be a part of a community where all are respected and valued for their unique contributions and voice.
