Homework Policy:

Homework assignments must be completed and brought to class on time. Late homework will not be accepted without prior arrangements with the teacher. Homework not turned in on time will be noted on students’ Habits for Success grades and Formative grades.

~~~~~
Summative Assessments and Retakes:
Students will have an opportunity to show evidence of learning on all summative assessments within three weeks from the due date, without a penalty to their grade. Students are responsible for ensuring that they schedule retakes appropriately with the teacher, and to demonstrate that they are prepared before retaking the assessment. Students are responsible for fixing incorrect work before completing any retake assessments.
~~~~~

Math Notebooks:

Students are required to keep a Math Notebook in all math classes. These notebooks will be included in students’ Habits for Success grades and need to be brought to class every day. If students are absent, they are responsible for getting any missed notes.

Qualifying for Accelerated Math in 8th grade:

At the end of 7th grade students have the opportunity to qualify to take Accelerated Math in 8th grade. This will then qualify students to be on the Honors Math track in High School. To be eligible for this opportunity, students must score at least a 240 on the spring 7th grade NWEA and have teacher recommendation. This class will be a fast-paced, advanced math class, and students need to demonstrate that they are ready for this with their Habits for Success. Students that do not meet these requirements will not be considered for this advanced course in 8th grade.
