January 12th-16th
Get outside and move your body! In the cold months, we have to work extra hard to move our bodies outside. Wearing the proper gear and staying active, can keep us warm on even the coldest days. There are so many fun things you can do outside during the Maine winters, so pick an activity and get moving.
This week, we will have an opening ceremony where we will gather together as a community and kick off our Winter Kids competition. We will also be welcoming a special guest speaker to help us learn about keeping our hearts healthy.
We are learning how to move our bodies safely, by stretching, staying flexible, and noticing how our pulse changes depending on how we move our bodies. We'll also enjoy a heart healthy apple snack, and look for heart shaped objects in nature.
