Parkway-Rockwood Intermediate Honors Orchestra

Does your child enjoy playing in the orchestra but is looking for something more challenging than what they get at school?  Does he or she take private lessons and wants to incorporate those more advanced skills into an ensemble with like-minded string players?  The Parkway-Rockwood Intermediate Honors Orchestra is an auditioned string orchestra that provides just these type of opportunities for talented elementary & middle school students in the Parkway and Rockwood School Districts.

For many years now, the Parkway-Rockwood Intermediate Honors Orchestra has provided an opportunity for more advanced elementary and middle schools students to learn, rehearse & perform from a more challenging and eclectic orchestral repertoire than they are used to getting in their orchestra classes at school.  Beginning with Tuesday evening rehearsals in October and culminating with a final performance in March, Honors Orchestra members are given the chance to play more to their strengths, as well as offer a challenge, musically.
