Program Mission / Values
All of us involved in the Marquette High School Athletic program are committed to success on and off the playing field while developing young men and women of empathy and integrity to help promote an atmosphere of belonging and acceptance for all students at Marquette High School. In the process of achieving this difficult parameter of success, the Marquette Basketball program acknowledges that the world outside the gymnasium is where true success and fulfillment can be found.
In reaching our goals, we will keep the same motto that has been the backbone to our program in the past. This is known as the “Success Triangle”
PLAY HARD
PLAY TOGETHER
PLAY LIKE A MUSTANG
PLAYING HARD means we are competitors. We as players, coaches, parents, and administration are striving to make sure that no one prepares more thoroughly or works more diligently to become successful than us. Also remember that we will define success simply by the impact we have on other people’s lives. In short, playing hard means giving our all to others both on and off the floor.
PLAYING TOGETHER means accepting our teammates and coaches as they are molding us to do whatever we can to make us and others successful on and off the basketball court. As a group, we will remember to enjoy each other and have fun while we participate in this game and learning experiences. In our off-the-court lives, we will contribute our time to others, to good and worthwhile causes, and to the welfare of our families and loved ones.
PLAYING LIKE A MUSTANG means being a player or coach who when the practice, the game, the season, or the career is over can look back and say, “I gave all of myself to a cause greater than myself”. Those associated with the program will be proud of who they have become and will be able to share experiences with others. Playing and living our lives with class and integrity are values we treasure in each other and ourselves.
