Marquette HOSA is one of the largest HOSA chapters in the state of Missouri as well as one of the most successful. At Marquette HOSA, we value learning, leadership, service, and innovation. These four values are cornerstones not only for our club but also for all aspiring future health professionals. Our club centers around exposing high school students to the vast career field of healthcare. Along with our state and international level competitions, we have monthly meetings, guest speakers, community service events, medical volunteering/shadowing opportunities, and career exploration!
"The mission of HOSA is to empower HOSA-Future Health Professionals to become leaders in the global health community through education, collaboration, and experience." ~ HOSA
State Leadership Conference (SLC) is the state-level event for our HOSA club. Students will stay overnight in Rolla, Missouri while attending their competitive events at Rolla High School. Schools from all across Missouri will be present and students will take part in many educational symposiums and listen to amazing guest speakers. SLC will take place March 25-26, but students must qualify for SLC in January in order to participate. Depending on their results at SLC, students will be approved for the next level of HOSA competition: the International Leadership Conference.
The International Leadership Conference (ILC) is the culmination of a year’s work for members. This year we travel to the world-renowned George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas from June 26-30! Students will not only participate in their competitive events, but also attend more valuable symposiums, and be introduced to some of the most influential leaders and speakers in the medical field. On top of this, students will have the opportunity to meet and befriend competitors from not only different states but different countries in what is truly an international celebration!
