These video clips are a couple of my favorite to show students and then have discussions on how it made them feel or what they think about certain topics. For example, with The Grinch, I often teach compassion. I will show this clip and then as a class we will discuss why the Grinch really hated Christmas. Kids soon realize that it wasn't actually Christmas he hated or was mad at but that he was lonely and didn't feel cared for. Then we talk about kindness and how Cindy Lou's act of kindness helped to change his heart.
Then with Piper we talk about Growth Mindset. Watch this with your kids and ask them to explain growth mindset and how piper showed hers.
