Hello, and welcome to my classroom website! I am excited to be your student's sixth-grade language arts and/or theatre teacher this school year!
I was born and raised in Rockford, Illinois. Growing up, I always dreamed of being a teacher. However, it wasn't until later on that I decided to go to school to pursue that dream. I earned my Associate of Arts from Rock Valley College in 2004, Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Rockford University in 2006, Master of Science in Education in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment from Walden University in 2008, and Master of Arts in Teaching Reading Specialist from Rockford University in 2011. Before coming to Webb Middle School in 2019, I taught in Rockford for 13 years. The first four years were spent teaching second grade. The remaining nine years were in middle school, where I taught reading, language arts, beginning and advanced theatre, social studies, and computers.
I am married with four beautiful and talented daughters and two son-in-laws ranging in ages from 26-35. I also have a "furry son" named Clyde. Additionally, I am "Nana" to four wonderful grandchildren (one princess and three princes) ranging in ages from 6 to 11 years old.
When I am not teaching, I love to spend time with my family and friends, playing the trumpet professionally and for fun, attending live theatre performances, bowling, and traveling.
As a teacher, I hope to instill the love I have for learning into my students.
