Reading Response Journal Entries
This will be a written response to a text you are reading. You will complete 1 reading journal entry each week. Each entry is worth 5 points.
Independently Read 24 book this year: 6 Books per Quarter across multiple genres:
You will keep track of what books you have read in your Reading Journal. Books over 350 pages count as 2 books. Students will have time in class, study hall, and advisory to independently read. Each book is worth 5 points. Here are the genre requirements:
Poetry: 2
Fantasy or Science Fiction or Mythology: 2
Historical Fiction: 2
Non-Fiction: 4
Realistic Fiction: 4
Your Choice: 10
Reading Comprehension Checks: You will answer questions at least once a week about the book you are reading in class. (5 points each)
Text Dependent Analysis: You will write an essay type of response at the end of books we read in class. (10 points each)
