Classroom Expectations:

• Be Respectful: be kind to others and their property, raise your hand to be recognized before speaking

• Be Responsible: be on time to class, bring needed materials with you, and follow directions the first time

• 6th grade Discipline Policy: If you choose inappropriate behavior, you will deal with the consequences given by a staff member. Severe disruption could result in immediate removal from the classroom. 

Supplies Needed Each Day for Language:

• Writing Journal

• Sharpened Pencils, erasers

Course Description: Students will practice using correct conventions of English grammar in their speaking and their published writing.

Course Outline: students will go through the writing process to publish their written work for each of the following genres

• • Narrative (stories)

  • Informational

  • Argumentative

6th grade Tips for Success:

• Go to the bathroom during 'passing time' (between classes)

• Use your study hall time to do incomplete work.

• Make yourself a to-do list of things you need to get done during study hall.

• Be kind! Every kid wants to be accepted, just like you!

• Bring all of your supplies to class EVERY day.

• Use lunch time and recess time to chat and play with your friends.
