School Social Workers collaborate with students, caregivers, school staff, and community partners to identify and address barriers that may be impacting a student’s well-being, engagement, attendance, or educational success.
These services include, but are not limited to:
Attendance, presence, and engagement
Social-emotional well-being and skill development
Student and family advocacy
Consultation with school student services teams
Supporting student-specific plans and programming
Collaboration with schools, families, community agencies, and service providers
Navigation of community resources and supports
Home-school-community liaison
Professional learning and Divisional staff development
Risk and threat assessments
