Reading Log

I will be sending home the parent letter and your child's first reading log! Keep an eye out in your child's Boomerang Folder. :) Please keep your reading log in a safe place and turn it in once they have read for 30 days! Once I receive it they will get to move their rocket and I will give them the next reading log.

A quick note about reading:

If your child is able to read independently, great! You can still ask them questions about what they read. They can also learn from reading aloud to you. 

If your child can not read independently then you can read with them, guiding them on words they don't know or you can read aloud to them. I encourage you to ask them questions about what you read and if possible have them read some of the words with you, at the very least tracking the page as you read. 

All reading is helpful and it is good for all students to hear books read aloud too. 

You can go to the Parent/Resource tab to find some things to help build a strong reader at home. :)
