Course Rationale
This advanced course, combined with the AP course, is designed for students who would like to function at an increased level in the target language, and who would perhaps like to study or work in Germany at some point in the future.
Course Aims and Outcomes
German 3 / AP German seeks to give students the tools to speak and comprehend the language with increased proficiency, and allow them to function in immersive settings, which they may encounter during prolonged stays in the German-speaking world
By the end of this course, students will:
be able to function effectively and easily navigate a German speaking country
be able to carry on a standard, intermediate conversation with students and native speakers of German.
be able to read and comprehend intermediate German texts and signs.
be familiar with German cultural norms and taboos.
be functional on the ACTFL level intermediate-mid (3) / intermediate-high (AP) (see ACTFL standards on RRPS World Language website).
