Classroom Conduct

Girls must be on time and in class daily. All  athletes are expected to turn in work and  maintain good grades. Academics are the  priority of school, not athletics.

Parent Volunteers

It is super important that we have parents  volunteer for ALL of our home meets. We are  in charge of running concessions and the gate.  We need as much parent support as possible.  Coach Martinez will be setting up a form to get  parents to sign up, please be on the lookout for  that.

Fundraising

Our goal is to have each athlete fundraise one  hundred dollars. We will be selling candy as  well as track apparel. Any combination of  selling $100 dollars’ worth of materials will  work. If an athlete does not want to sell and  wishes to get a $100 sponsorship that will work  as well.

Cleveland Storm Track and Field Athlete Rules

I- With the school philosophy in mind each athlete will be expected to perform their best work diligently, be courteous, and behave appropriately at all times while representing the school.

II- Athletes are expected to be on time and be prepared to practice. Track practice will be 2:15 - 4:15 each day,  Mon-Fri. Practice will be held at the high school track and field facility. If an athlete is going to miss or be late to practice she must inform the  Head coach. If an athlete needs to see the trainer, she must see the trainer during lunch or before school.  The trainer will inform the head coach of the diagnosis.  DO NOT waste time by showing up to the track and then going to see the trainer.

III.- You are reminded that each of you is representing  Cleveland High School, the City of Rio Rancho, your parents, your coaches, but most of all yourselves. You cannot buy respect it is to be earned. Earn it through proper behavior and the respect you give to others. We want our program to be respected. In essence, you are an ambassador of your community.

IV.- If you are caught with alcohol or drugs you will be dismissed following a meeting with the A.D., coach,  athlete, and parent. (Athlete Code of Conduct)

V- If charged with any illegal behavior you will immediately be suspended from the team until the case goes to court. If you are found guilty, you will be dismissed from the team. If the charges are dropped you shall be reinstated to the team.

VI- The Locker room and Weight room are your home.  This home will be kept clean and if need be, remind others to keep their area clean. Secure all valuables in a  locker with a lock.

VII- Respect for your teammates is a must to have a  successful season. If your conduct undermines the team aspect of our squad, a meeting will be held with the athlete. If this continues a meeting with the parents will be held and the athlete could be suspended for conduct detrimental to the team. Respect for your coaches  (Head, assistant, volunteer) is a must at all times. They are putting their time and effort into making you a  better athlete and person. If a problem arises you need to be mature enough to talk to the coach to rectify the situation. Do not quit on your coaches and teammates because your coaches will not quit on you.

VIII- When catching the bus, you must be at the site 15  minutes before departure time for roll call. Water,  jugs, bags, and canopies need to be loaded and unloaded by squad members. Coaches will not load for you.

IX- You will be checked out for a team warm-up and uniform. The team shirts and Sweats are to be worn at all events. These are to be checked in at the end of the season. You will be held accountable for the condition you return it in, or failure to return.

X. Public Display of Affection – Track meets have a lot of downtime. But like any other sport, PDA at an event in practice or on a bus to or from a meet is inappropriate and could lead to dismissal from the team. Please adhere to this policy at all times.
