SAFE Weekly Update 02/27/2026
HelloSAFE Families! We have reached the end of February so quickly! March is already here and with it so many outdoor activities (weather permitting of course). Our SAFE students will be participating in the City Of Rio Rancho Clean Campus Contest for a few weeks. The students will be picking up trash (using gloves), creating a garden, and pictures will be taken of the areas we clean up before and after. If you would not like your child to participate, please let us know as soon as possible. Students will also be planting seedlings next week. Again, if you do not want your student to participate, please let us know as soon as possible.
Healthy habits develop at young ages. We will begin working with small groups of students to teach proper hand washing skills. We have a specific item called Glo Germ. Students will use it like a lotion, then wash hands, then a black light will be used to show them where they missed washing their hands. The item is non toxic and used by hospitals to teach staff how to wash their hands as well. If you would not like your student to participate in the hand washing lessons, please let us know as soon as possible.
School registration for the 2026-2027 school year has opened. Please register your students as soon as possible. The SAFE program registration will not open until April. However, registration to Cielo Azul Elementary is required for students to continue attending the SAFE program for the next school year. If you will be moving to a different school next year, please still register, your student’s registration can be transferred through the office via the registrar to the next school if it is the RRPS district. Students that will be leaving RRPS entirely have a different process and contacting the registrar will help ensure a smooth transition.
The final SAFE tuition payment will be due MARCH 16th, 2026. All balances MUST BE PAID IN FULL prior to April 17th,2026. If you need to make payment arrangements, please send a separate email. If you will not be utilizing the SAFE program for the 4th quarter, please let us know by March 7th,2026.
