Title 1 Reading Group

Goldwood Primary School receives Title I funds in order to provide reading intervention and support to students who qualify.  Within reading group, students will be working within Double Dose Fundations curriculum.  I have included a short description of the program below.  For additional information you can go to the Goldwood Title I webpage.

In conjunction with these intervention programs, I also integrate the use of poetry.  Poetry is a fun and effective way to increase reading fluency and vocabulary.  

Double Dose Fundations

Double Dose is the phonics intervention program within our Fundations curriculum.   Within the reading group, students will work to develop their foundational literacy skills and receive repeated practice and support with letter-keyword-sound, alphabetic order, and letter-formation skills.   For more information about Fundations in Kindergarten you can go to the Fundations website.
