To obtain an Advanced Regents Diploma, students are able to complete a sequence in ART!
Students wishing to pursue a five-unit visual art sequence must complete either Studio-in-Art or Design and Drawing for Production along with four additional art courses that are outlined below.
Portfolios are required for acceptance into college programs in the fine arts, commercial art, interior design, architecture, fashion design, graphic art, and illustration. The Five-Unit Art Sequence will prepare students with a body of work to showcase for entrance into undergraduate programs across the country.
Five-Unit Art Sequence:

60% - Projects
Projects account for the largest portion of students’ grades because this is what students will spend the greatest amount of time on.
The expectations are as follows:
The student has followed all guidelines set forth during instructions.
The project is complete and finished on time.
The student has observed suggestions made by the teacher for a successful project.
The project is neat and clean when handed in; the student has taken great care and effort in the project.
20% - Sketchbook Assignments / Lead-in Lessons
Smaller lessons that help to guide us with our larger projects will be a part of the 30% portion of your quarter grade. These assignments could be in-class work, virtual assignments or Google Meet responses.
Worksheets, virtual assignments, Google Meet responses, lead-in lessons and sketchbook assignments will be reviewed and graded.
Students will be responsible for all work inside and outside of class.
If a student is absent (both in school or remote), it is their responsibility to make up any missed work.
20% - Studio Time
The studio time grade is based off of several components.
