Coaches

In the classroom:

• observe/take notes that we walk through together to see what's going great and what may need some fine-tuning

• modeling a strategy or tool in a lesson

• facilitating a small group of students (group work, giving feedback during writing, projects, etc.)

• helping track student participation in a discussion

• co-teaching a lesson you've co-planned and have "assigned" parts

Outside the classroom:

• create materials you might need based on brainstorming sessions with one another

• finding materials you might use with your students

• serving as a sounding board for your lesson ideas, struggles (classroom management/lesson execution, etc.) and successes

• collaborating to develop a "start-to-finish" lesson: determining lesson goal + discussing execution; steps to achieve the goal + formative assessment

• supporting curriculum implementation and standards-based grading practices (learning together as we go)

• large scale course planning/summative planning
