On this page you will find links to freely available eBook and Audio Books as well as to some useful tools to help you understand the book you are reading or to help you find a new book to read.
Bookshare https://www.bookshare.org/ Bookshare offers access to over 1.3 million digital books, including popular fiction and nonfiction titles, as well as textbooks, all in a variety of accessible formats (Braille, ePub, Word, DAISY text/audio, and MP3). It is available for students with documented reading-related disabilities (visual or physical). All materials are digital and can be accessed through web browsers, smartphones, tablets, and smart speakers. Funded by the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP), Bookshare is free for all qualified U.S. students and schools. BPL's Overdrive https://bpl.overdrive.com/ The Boston Public Library has thousands of eBooks, classics as well as recently published and new eBook titles. See notes below to access Overdrive from BPL.
EPIC https://www.getepic.com/ EPIC is a great tool for language learners because there are thousands of books organized by reading level. Students and teachers can use EPIC for free during school hours.
Internet Archive Books https://archive.org/details/texts The Internet Archive offers over 20,000,000 freely downloadable books and texts. There is also a collection of 2.3 million modern eBooks that may be borrowed by anyone with a free archive.org account.

Planet eBook https://www.planetebook.com/ Planet eBook hails from Australia and shares classic books that are in the public domain (that means they are freely available).
Project Gutenberg https://www.gutenberg.org/ Project Gutenberg was *the* first provider of free online eBooks. They have over 60,000 titles to choose from!
