District 62 of the Rapides Parish School Board sought an increased investment in our students, schools, and teachers. A bond proposition, in the amount of $100 million, was approved on April 30, 2022.
The purpose of this bond is to finance capital expenditures for purposes for the District including constructing, improving schools and other school-related facilities. This bond will last twenty years.
Where is District 62?
This district of Rapides Parish encompasses the schools within Alexandria's city limits. It includes the ASH, Bolton, and Peabody High School Feeder Systems.
Bond History in District 62
In 1999, $35 million passed to fund the building of Peabody Magnet High School and fund the other schools in the district. $23 million was allocated to the construction of Peabody Magnet. The remaining $12 million was split among the other schools.
No bonds have been put before the public since 1999.
