Getting Started

Expectations

Each module contains four learning sessions in which you will examine the expectations of the standards, study effective practices, explore potential resources to support your plan, and design an authentic plan for effective family engagement.

In order to develop a comprehensive understanding of the standards and the impact on student outcomes, it is important that you complete all of the parts within each learning session, as well as record your responses and thoughts in your Family Engagement Interactive Notebook (FEIN).

Lastly, you will design your Family-School Partnership Action Plan specific to the specific standard.

PROGRAM ELEMENTS

Anchor

The Anchor is your learning hub. It includes access to the modules, as well as the template for creating your action plan. You will be directed back to the Anchor upon completion of each module.

FEIN

The Family Engagement Interactive Notebook (FEIN) is your professional learning log. It serves three purposes: (1) Access to course content (2) A place to reflect and engage with the content of the program (3) Evidence of your learning.

Action Plan

The Family-School Partnership Action Plan is standard specific. You will refer to your FEIN, the standard's goals and indicators, and other tools when developing your plan. Consider identifying action steps you might take tomorrow, next week, next month, and even next year.
