The Latin Lectures are a great opportunity for students to research a topic they find interesting and then present it to a group of their peers and teachers. These lectures link in with some of the core LATIN values and virtues (leadership, innovation and courage amongst others). Here are some of the amazing presentations that our year 12 students have used for their Latin Lectures.

I have always been interested in the rapid rise of AI technology, from deepfakes to chatbots, but when I watched a videoessay of the film ‘Her’, I began to consider the possibility of chatbots replacing our romantic relationships. Although I initially thought it sounded far-fetched, I came to know of a website called Character AI where anyone can chat with chatbots modelled after any fictional character or celebrity in the current media. I wanted to investigate the possibility of this relationship between AI and human, as well as the advantages and disadvantages this would have on our society as a whole.
For my Latin Lecture, I wanted to challenge myself to not just read off the slides and so all of my slides consist of just pictures. Apologies if this makes the slideshow harder to follow!
