Dave Bennet

1974

Carmine Rossi, class of 1959, is the first wrestler from Morris County wrestling to win an individual State Championship, doing so at 123 pounds as a junior in 1958. He went on to become head wrestling coach at Dover High School, where he coached two individual State Champions. In 1986, he was inducted into the inaugural class of the Morris County Wrestling Hall of Fame. Carmine attended Bloomsburg University. 

Leonard M. Perfetti

1974

Bob Morgan, class of 1961, was a two-time All-Morris selection in football and basketball and a one-time selection in baseball. He is one of only three boys basketball players to score 1,000 points in the 95-year history of the program. His 1,039 points remained a school record for half a century. He led the 1960 North II, Group II sectional champion basketball team in scoring with 338 points, and started at quarterback for the 1959 football North II, Group II Champions. Bob played football for Syracuse University. 

Karl Nonemaker

1998

Nancy Seeger, class 1978, had one of the most successful individual seasons of any athlete in Roxbury history. In the Fall of 1977, she won individual cross country meets for the Iron Hills Conference, Morris County XC Meets, North II Group III, Group III, the inaugural NJSIAA Meet of Champions, and the Eastern Regional Championship. In addition, she was named 1977 Runner of the Year by the Daily Record and Dover Advance. Nancy attended Rutgers University and was inducted into their Olympic Sports hall of Fame in 1999.

Amber Williams

Amber (Class of 2001) was the first Gael to win a Meet of Champions event in back to back years, winning the 100-meter titles in both 2000 and 2001 and was named to the All-State Team both years.  In winter track, she was the 2001 National Champion in the pentathlon event at the National Scholastic Championship, and earned All-State and USA Today all-American status. Amber went on to become a collegiate all-American for the Miami Hurricanes, where she still holds the all-time record in 2 events.

Richard Mirshak

1958-1967

Coach Mirshak (1958-1967) was the head coach of the Roxbury wrestling team for nine years. Over that span, his teams had a record of 75-29-2. In 1962 and 1965, his teams finished as Jersey Hills Conference Champions, and won the school’s first district title in 1962. The Gaels finished 21-2 during his final two years of coaching and were Iron Area Conference Champions both years. Coach Mirshak’s coached two state champions, L. Bill Henderson in 1965 and Bruce Canfield in 1966.

The ‘73 Gaels under head Coach Jim Fiorello went 8-1. Led by an explosive offense and a tough defense, the players dominated the local gridiron. Only 22 points were scored on them the entire season and six teams were shut out completely. On offense, they amassed over 200 points. Standouts on the team were Len Perfetti, Dave Bennett, Mike Roy and Mike Ventura.
