The Advanced Placement Art & Design course provides highly motivated, seriously committed students with a college-level visual art experience. Instruction will be individualized to the student’s area of interest. Quality of work, demonstration of proficient knowledge of design principles. techniques, materials, experimentation of new ideas and approaches, and the creation of a body of work based upon particular interests and ideas expressed visually will be the focus of the course. Portfolio preparation and evaluation, college & career information, critiques and independent study are emphasized. Portfolios are submitted to the College Board for evaluation in May.
Summer projects and participation in the Senior Art Show are required.
Grade 12 - 10 Credits
PREREQUISITE: Portfolio Development, Teacher Recommendation & Portfolio Review.
Digital students must complete Art I, at least 10 credits in digital classes, Teacher Recommendation & Portfolio Review
