Coaching Staff

Kate Norgard- Head Coach

Coach Norgard is an English teacher at Roxbury High School since 2013; she currently teaches AP Seminar and English 4. She coached under Coach Naugle for 8 years and as an assistant coach at West Morris Central for 2 years. She is also a member of the Centercourt Field Hockey club coaching staff. She graduated from Montclair State University in 2013, where she played 4 years of field hockey for the Red Hawks. While at Montclair,  coach Norgard was an all-conference, all-region, and All-American selection, helping her team win the NJAC championship and place national runners-up in the 2012 NCAA championship game. She is passionate about the game of field hockey and believes in "growing the game" and helping every player reach their greatest potential. 

Diane Naugle-Douglas, Assistant Coach

Coach Naugle-Douglas, better known as Naug, is a health teacher at Roxbury High School. 2021 will be her 20th year in the program, and her 17th year as the head coach.  She graduated from William Paterson University many many (many) moons ago with a degree in Health and Physical Education, where she also played field hockey and softball.  She was also the head softball coach at Roxbury for many years, but recently resigned to coach her own kids. She has a daughter, Caelyn, and a son Bode who you will see running on the sidelines and are the self-proclaimed, "BIGGEST FANS EVER." 

Allie Urban, Assistant Coach

Coach Urban is a health and physical education teacher at Roxbury High School, where she was also was a student and standout goalie and athlete.  She ended her career with a 88% save percentage and was named to the all-conference and all-county teams her junior and senior years.  Upon graduation, she attended ESU where she graduated in Health and PE in 2016. She returned to Roxbury not only as a teacher, but as a coach of multiple sports, including lacrosse and now swimming! 2021 will be Coach Urban's 5th year coaching field hockey back at Roxbury.  She was named the Assistant Coach of the Year for Roxbury High School for the 2020-2021 school year! She is known for her own series of exercises known as "URB-ABS," which will make it hard to laugh, cry and essentially move!

Karisa Brown, Assistant Coach

Coach Karisa Brown is a Health and PE teacher at Eisenhower Middle School after joining the Roxbury teaching staff in January of 2020 upon graduation from East Stroudsburg University. While at ESU, Coach Brown was a 4 year member of the Warriors Field Hockey program that qualified for the NCAA Division II National Championships for four consecutive seasons, winning the national title in 2015 and earning the NCAA National Runner-Up place finish in 2018. She comes to Roxbury with a variety of coaching experiences that have included summer swinning, softball, and field hockey. She most recently was co-coaching at EMS for the last 2 field hockey seasons and has been on staff with the Centercourt Field Hockey Club. Coach Brown loves the sport of field hockey and is passionate about developing women of character through sports participation that is focused on body, mind and heart of the athlete. She looks forward to working with the lady Gaels this field hockey season!
