Report cards will be given on a trimester basis. Students in the 4th grade receive letter grades and effort grades for reading, writing, math, science, and Social Studies. Letter grades will be based off of the following percentages:

Classwork/Projects 60%

Participation 30%

Assessments 10%

Classwork/Projects

Classwork assignments will be given credit based on effort and completion. The purpose of classwork is for students to practice skills and strategies.

Participation

Students will receive their participation grade based upon how much they contribute to class and group discussions. Students can participate by asking questions and responding to their peers and the teacher.

Assessments

Students will be given assessments to check for mastery of concepts.
