Teach students how to use academic search engines like Google Scholar and research databases like JSTOR to find scholarly articles and credible sources. Provide guidance on effective search queries and advanced search options.
1.3B - Students evaluate the accuracy, perspective, credibility and relevance of information, media, data or other resources.
Evaluating Information (1.3B):
Media Literacy Tools: Use platforms like Newsela or FactCheck.org to engage students in evaluating the credibility and perspective of news articles and media content. Discuss bias and reliability in online sources.
1.3C- Students curate information from digital resources using a variety of tools and methods to create collections of artifacts that demonstrate meaningful connections or conclusions.
Digital Curation (1.3C):
Digital Portfolio Tools: Have students use digital portfolio platforms such as Seesaw,Google Sites or Wakelet to curate their best work, reflections, and learning experiences. This allows them to showcase their progress and meaningful connections between different projects.
4. Creating Collections of Artifacts (1.3C):
Digital Storytelling Tools: Encourage students to create digital stories using tools like Adobe Express, Canva, or StoryMapJS. They can curate information, images, and multimedia elements to craft narratives that demonstrate meaningful connections and conclusions on a topic.
