Intentionally building a diverse community where people feel welcomed and a deep sense of belonging, want to share their voices. Remember to look to those who are most impacted by the system, but have fewest opportunities to share their voices with the system.

Activity 3: United We Learn


WHAT will we have when this activity is complete? Our L3 coalition will have an understanding of the United We Learn report, reflection on the themes and user profiles from the report, and an orientation to which themes/users resonate with your community.

WHY is this activity important? This activity helps the coalition have a sense of the larger purpose of the L3 work in terms of educational goals and content.

Activity 4: Habits and Design Thinking


WHAT will we have when this module is complete? At the end of this activity, our L3 coalition will have been introduced to the Habits of Co-creation and completed a short design cycle.

WHY is this module important? This activity serves to introduce our coalition to the habits of co-creation and design thinking in a quick, immersive way.

HOW do I do this module while keeping the habits in mind? Focus on inclusion by introducing everyone to the habits, and keeping many perspectives and voices in the room and participating.

Activity 5: Community Empathy Interview Plan


WHAT will we have when this activity is complete? We will have an empathy interview plan that reaches the margins of our community.

WHY is this activity important? This activity helps us see who is and is not in the coalition and identify marginalized groups in our community.

HOW do I do this activity while keeping the habits in mind? Focus on inclusion and keeping many perspectives and voices in the room and participating.

Activity 6: Pause and Reflect Protocol

WHAT will we have when this activity is complete? A group reflection on how we are practicing our habit of being inclusive as we work together.

WHY is this activity important? This activity ensures that we are listening to users and getting critical feedback early enough to make changes in our approach.

HOW do I do this activity while keeping the habits in mind? Focus on inclusion and keeping many perspectives and voices in the room and participating.
