Calibration Wizard

Make sure you have Roversa on a 18'x18' space (3x3 grid on a mat) before starting the Calibraton Wizard.

To bring up the Calibration Wizard in Standalone Mode, press the micro:bit logo and green Play button together. 

Note: If the Calibration Wizard does not come up, you will need to download the latest firmware.

Turning Calibration

• The letter A will show up. Press the Play button and Roversa will rotate in a circle to calibrate the compass sensor.

• Note: The compass calibration only runs one time. If turning accurately becomes an issue, you can run the compass calibration again by going through the Menu (press the micro:bit logo and gray Menu button together).

Movement Calibration

• When Roversa starts moving forward and backward one step several times, it is using a gyroscope sensor to learn how to drive straight. Do not worry if it does not drive straight during the calibration

• Note: If after running the Calibration Wizard, you are still seeing some issues with driving straight, you can run it again. It will continue to learn to do better movements each time you calibrate.

Distance Calibration

• The Letter D will display on the LED screen. 

• Line up Roversa so either the front or back of it is on line where you can see the distance it travels. For the Roversa mats, the distance should be 6 inches. 

• Press the Play button and Roversa will move forward 2 steps.

  • If Roversa goes too far, press the Back arrow button until it moves to the position you want. 

  • If Roversa doesn't go far enough, press the Forward arrow button until it moves to the position you want. Bring Roversa back to the start and press Play button to test. 

  • Repeat steps until Roversa drives the correct distance. 

• Press Menu button to save the calibration.
