"Research shows that CS integration not only enriches core subjects like science, math, and literacy but also fosters student engagement through personally meaningful and real-world, problem-based learning. Teachers often find integration natural and feasible, especially when supported through professional development, since most real-world problems cross disciplinary boundaries. CS standards, especially in K-8, are often designed to be taught primarily through integration across core subjects, though barriers such as lack of instructional time, resources, and educator expertise remain. Despite these challenges, integration offers a promising pathway for expanding equitable access to CS while strengthening connections between academic content, civic engagement, and student agency."
