Cher-KA Case Managment

We monitor students' progress and help them figure out how to be successful. We teach them to self-advocate and show them tools to help them overcome the language barriers. We partner with families to help students make good choices.

We provide tutoring before and after school as well as during FLEX. We encourage students to seek tutoring first from their teachers but are always ready to help when needed.

When new students arrive, we test students language levels, work with counselors in designing their schedules, show them how school is done at Westwood. Within the first 20 school days, we meet in a committee to determine if students qualify to be in the ESL program and what supports they will need in the class to be successful.
We also monitor students' success. When students struggle and need added support, we meet as a team and look to see how a student can be best supported to success.
